ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership & Technical Excellence

  • Serve as senior technical resource and provide oversite to engineering teams across properties
  • Develop training programs to enhance technical competencies and foster continuous improvement
  • Establish and implement engineering best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate communication between different property elements during maintenance activities or emergencies
  • Provide specialized technical expertise for complex issues at multiple properties

Construction & Project Oversight

  • Monitor construction activities with regular site inspections for quality and compliance
  • Coordinate between construction teams and operations to minimize disruption
  • Implement special projects across diverse property components
  • Manage turnover of completed construction and capital projects including inspections, commissioning, documentation, training, and warranty management

Strategic Communication

  • Deliver effective communications to diverse stakeholders across property components
  • Present engineering recommendations and technical information to internal/external audiences
  • Manage expectations of varied user groups (retailers, office clients, residents, public users)
  • Coordinate cross-component communications during maintenance or emergencies

Quality Management

  • Develop and enforce standards and specifications tailored to each property component
  • Monitor performance metrics and satisfaction levels across all property elements
  • Analyze facility management data (utilities, work orders, maintenance history)
  • Implement process improvements to enhance workplace productivity
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards specific to each property type

Technology Integration

  • Manage operational technologies across the property ecosystem
  • Oversee building automation systems, CMMS, and control systems
  • Identify opportunities for system integration between property components
  • Recommend technology enhancements to improve performance and user experience

Operations & Maintenance Management

  • Assess condition of structures, systems, and grounds across all property components
  • Oversee operations, maintenance activities, and asset lifecycle management
  • Develop operational guidelines for diverse property requirements
  • Evaluate maintenance service delivery options (in-house vs. outsourced)
  • Monitor system performance and user satisfaction across all property components

Financial & Contract Management

  • Develop and manage Engineering and Utilities operating budgets across all components
  • Oversee capital budget requirements with supporting business cases
  • Analyze financial documents and prepare forecasts and reports
  • Manage service contracts including specification development, vendor selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring
  • Resolve contract disputes and vendor conflicts

Emergency Preparedness

  • Partner with Security to support property-wide emergency preparedness
  • Develop component-specific emergency protocols and coordinate cross-property response
  • Design and manage emergency simulation exercises

Project Management

  • Define and program projects including scope, schedule, budget, and requirements
  • Develop specifications, administer contracts, and oversee implementation
  • Manage construction, renovation, and organizational change projects
  • Coordinate timing to minimize disruption across property components
  • Evaluate project outcomes against established objectives

Environmental Leadership

  • Analyze utility consumption and develop sustainability initiatives
  • Implement environmental impact programs tailored to each property component
  • Apply LEED principles and sustainable practices across the mixed-use environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum seven years' experience in facilities engineering leadership within mixed-use environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Property Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, particularly in construction oversight
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems across different property types
  • Experience managing diverse property components (retail, office, residential, public spaces)
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and property management software
  • Expertise in sustainability practices for mixed-use developments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across different property components

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments across various property components
  • Regular walking, standing, and movement throughout the working day
  • Capability to lift items up to 30 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Physical mobility to navigate and inspect all property areas including technical spaces

Estimated total compensation for this position:

138,000.00 - 172,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
