Velocity Dynamics, LLC (“Company”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cleanwater1, Inc., a global provider of polymer activation systems, chemical feed systems, on-site hypochlorite generation equipment and potable water mixing and treatment systems serving the water and wastewater treatment industries. Cleanwater1, Inc., Inc., through its various operating subsidiaries, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure market.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Buyer will perform various purchasing/planning and administrative tasks. The tasks will involve supporting functions for the Manufacturing and Finance departments. This full-time position is based at the company’s Grain Valley, Missouri facility.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyze material demand, identify shortages, and expedite orders.
  • Buy and manage raw material requirements.
  • Provide order lead time guidance to Production and Project Management as required.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties.
  • Assist Finance with resolving invoicing discrepancies and initial vendor set-ups.
  • Maintain database fields that control the timing and quantity of inventory on the basis of demand and forecasts.
  • Coordinate the procurement of raw materials.
  • Work closely with Engineering to purchase prototype or expedited items.
  • Monitor and identify opportunities with inventory accuracy, safety stock settings, excess inventory, and reorder quantities.
  • Dispose inventory when it becomes obsolete due to product life cycle or engineering changes.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties.
  • Record transaction entries in system to maintain inventory records.

Required Qualifications
  • Administrative experience in a professional setting.
  • Prior purchasing experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable speaking on the telephone.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems in general.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.

Work Environment
  • Approximately 80% Office Setting; and
  • Approximately 20% Light Industrial – May be exposed to areas of high noise levels and industrial facilities.
  • Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This is an exempt position. The base yearly salary for this position is between $60,000 - $75,000. Compensation is dependent on skill level. Benefits package and incentives are provided.
