DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing and participating in the overall preparation and service of food to residents at Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. Your duties will include inputting data regarding resident population and their food preferences, preparing and maintaining diet tray cards, and reporting resident-related information to the Clinical Dietitian. In this position, you will develop and maintain daily production assignment forms, prepare menus and food for Activities Department-related functions and special functions, and supervise portioning and handling of food. You can expect to supervise and coordinate all activities related to meal service and cafeteria service. Additionally, you will develop and implement training, procedures for the care and use of supplies and equipment, and procedures for cleaning. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch, and rotating weekends and holidays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course; or
- Two years as a Food Service Worker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous food service worker experience preferred.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
