Job Description (General Summary)

Intralox LLC is currently seeking a New Product Development Engineer for our Emerging Capabilities (EC) Team to work out of our New Orleans office. This team is forward thinking and looking at new materials, innovative concepts, and technology to help shape future product lines that will increase the value we offer our customers. This position will prioritize mechanical engineering skills to help qualify new materials and designs, focusing on application requirements, testing, and manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Dedicated mechanical engineering resource that will support the development of new conveyance and materials technology through testing, design and manufacturing in our emerging capabilities team
  • Work efficiently within an evolving set of engineering specifications as we learn and shape projects around new technology to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluate/Calculate mechanical requirements for conveyance systems to help determine feasibility
  • Test planning, test design, and execution for Industry-specific applications
  • Data analysis and communication to internal stakeholders as we de-risk new technology and refine specifications
  • Manufacturing coordination in injection molding, extrusion, machining, etc. to advance an idea
  • Using 3D CAD software and printing to bring new design concepts to life that support capabilities developed or uncovered in research

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (or relevant technical degree)
  • Minimum 7 years of industry / professional experience
  • Keen sense and high standards for "what good looks like" in your work and communication
  • Experience with plastics, conveyors systems, part/system design, data analysis, and/or test plan development
  • Strong technical and analytical skills to simplify communication across different teams and customers
  • Some proactive travel will be required to customer locations for application understanding (~10%)
