Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Systems Administrator to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install and maintain IT infrastructure including, but not limited to: internal/external networks, Windows/Linux based servers, databases, Active Directory, and all supporting hardware/software. Provides after hours support of mission critical systems including weekends and holidays. As a Systems Administrator, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots servers and applications which support internal IT operations.
  • Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots internal/external networks. Provides operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Analyzes the current business and information technology environments to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Orders and installs hardware and/or software as requested.
  • Supports Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Supports local and cloud hosted services such as email and collaboration tools.
  • Plans for and responds to service outages and other issues. Maintains system security programs.
  • Performs backups and backup maintenance.
  • Adds, removes or updates user account information, reset passwords, etc.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

  • Ability to evaluate technology solutions to the business needs of the organization and find the best possible tools to meet those needs.
  • Solid customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of customers without being prompted.
  • Self-motivation.


  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field


Minimum Experience:



  • Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Microsoft Active Directory
