Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of our engineering and aerospace laboratory facility. This role requires a strong understanding of technical systems, regulatory compliance, and facility support functions in a research-intensive environment. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal facility performance to support engineering development, testing, and laboratory research.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Operations & Maintenance:



  • Oversee all aspects of building operations under the companyis rental space including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, compressed air, chemical storage, and laboratory infrastructure.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of facility equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Manage employees, vendors and contractors for facility-related services including janitorial, waste disposal, and equipment servicing.


Safety & Compliance:



  • Ensure the facility complies with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Partner with EHS teams to maintain safety procedures for hazardous materials, lab safety, and emergency preparedness.
  • Support safety audits and coordinate corrective actions.


Space & Infrastructure Planning:



  • Support space office moves, and lab layout planning to support changing research and engineering needs.
  • Work with engineering/lab leadership to understand and plan for infrastructure requirements.
  • Support design and execution of facilities improvements/changes.


Project Management:



  • Develop and manage the facilities operating and capital budgets with Test Center management.
  • Lead facilities projects including renovations, lab upgrades, or new construction.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related requests from engineering, research, and administrative teams.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to lab operations during maintenance or construction activities.

  • Ability to operate machinery

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, ideally in a laboratory, research, or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, OSHA, EH&S standards).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • English and Spanish fluency is preferred.
  • Hands-on approach is preferred.
