Senior Process Technology Engineer (Food Preservation)

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Design and 5 years of experience in developing and implementing manufacturing processes in the area of thermoforming and extrusion for cabinet and door liners of food preservation appliances.
  • Must have experience in:
    • Defining core thermoforming, extrusion and molding process technology road maps focusing on continuous digital manufacturing transformation.
    • Integrating Smart Manufacturing technology into processes and machines within a factory to enhance efficiency and consistency in food preservation appliance production.
    • Materials properties and how they behave under heat and pressure during extrusion and thermoforming processes to refine manufacturing processes.
    • Training an engineering team on highspeed thermoforming, molding, and vacuum forming process technology including, double bubble and cutting system.
    • Utilizing selective laser sintering or direct metal laser sintering to apply Additive manufacturing techniques to plastic transformation and molding.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes in the area of thermoforming and extrusion for cabinet and door liners of food preservation appliances.
  • Research, validate and recommend new technologies and methods for Thermoforming including methods to maximize energy efficiency and automation readiness.
  • Define core thermoforming, extrusion and molding process technology road map focusing on continuous digital manufacturing transformation.
  • Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Integrate Smart Manufacturing technology into processes and machines within the factory that enhance efficiency and consistency in food preservation appliance production.
  • Utilize knowledge of material properties and how they behave under heat and pressure during extrusion and thermoforming processes to refine manufacturing processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Upgrade or direct technical aspects of equipment installation, including, procurement, start-up, troubleshooting and coordinating repair.
  • Facilitate Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis ("DFMEA") on new assembly line components and define core technology road map.
  • Create more sustainable products and energy efficient processes by incorporating recycled thermoplastic materials, biodegradable plastics, and utilizing multi-layer thermoforming.
  • Train engineering team on highspeed thermoforming, molding, and vacuum forming process technology including, double bubble and cutting system.
  • Utilize selective laser sintering or direct metal laser sintering to apply Additive manufacturing techniques to plastic transformation and molding.
  • Conduct data analytics of core manufacturing processes through use of visual inspection system to identify opportunities to automate operations and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Identify equipment improvement and develop these into project scopes for Core Engineering/ Technical Services.
  • Own and periodically update the related Process Optimization Book, Factory Model and drive the factories towards their compliance targets.
  • Create and maintain global database for equipment and relevant process metrics including sensors, 3d layouts and simulations.
