Description

The Network Engineer reports to the Director of IT, Infrastructure & Operations and is primarily responsible for network engineering. This includes but is not limited to all aspects of network engineering such as design, configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, implementation, maintenance and support of new and existing corporate network infrastructure including routers, switches, access points, VoIP, monitoring, etc. Responsibilities require both technical skills and physical abilities to accomplish.



  • Work with Sr Network Engineer in all efforts to maintain the daily operations of the F&CS telecom network including Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, Internet, and Voice.
  • Assist with strategic direction, budgeting, and planning to maintain the health of the physical network.
  • Research emerging technologies to keep the network current and relevant.
  • Manage lifecycle of all telecom equipment.
  • Assist management with budgeting for all telecom.
  • Optimize network performance by monitoring and tuning network equipment, resolving issues, and managing telecom circuits to provide highly available, resilient, and reliable communications.
  • Work with key strategic partners to maintain effective relations, pricing, acquisitions, and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve telecom related issues to keep the network communicating efficiently.
  • Maintain and protect network security.
  • Manage updates on all telecom equipment including OS levels, patching, vulnerability updates, etc.
  • Maintain DNS and DHCP and other IP stack services.
  • Optimize network equipment to maintain integrity, stability and efficient performance.
  • Partner with technology vendors and maintain good working relationships.
  • Document and diagram all network topologies, policies, procedures, and provide cross training to other engineers.
  • Provide and/or assist in the project management of technology related projects
  • Perform special projects as the need arises
  • Provide Level 2 & 3 support for all telecom related issues.
  • Research and resolve systems issues

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Information Technology (preferred)
