Senior Banking Analyst

Job Description: PURPOSE

Responsible for executing essential Treasury and banking functions, performed with a high level of accuracy on a timely basis. Assists with Treasury related projects, bank structure, and bank relationship management. Provide guidance to Corporate Administrative Assistant. Candidate will exhibit intellectual curiosity, and be a self-starter with the ability to initiate action with little or no direction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Process daily wires, ACHs, and book transfers, totaling over $700MM annually, in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Process biweekly Housing payroll files and reports, working with senior leadership as necessary to ensure payroll account is funded by the prescribed deadline.
  • Monitor high-volume Treasury email; handling research requests within set timeframe, resolving issues with minimal guidance.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining positive relationships with depository banks.
  • Participate and assist in Treasury related projects and initiatives.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement improvements.
  • Responsible for training, coaching, and development of Corporate Administrative Assistant, in addition to cross-training other central office and field staff, as needed.
  • Working with Treasury team members, create and maintain Treasury policies and procedure library, adhering to proper controls and N^^ policy.
  • Open/close and maintain ~1,600 bank accounts across all divisions of National Church Residences, ensuring proper documentation, including KYC, resolutions, and proper signatories.
  • Partnering with the Development team and field leadership, coordinate on- and off-boarding activities related to acquisitions, divestitures, refinances, and new or terminated management contracts.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Treasury Management System, assisting in testing upgrades and enhancements.
  • Administrate bank portal access, reviewing to ensure proper controls and separation of duties are maintained. Work with external auditors to review proper access and security controls.
  • Assist other departments (e.g. accounting, field staff) with month end and ad-hoc information requests as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Yardi AP/GL and Workday systems.
  • Maintain New Jersey security deposit accounts, including transfer of escrow funds, annual audit, account balance analysis, and assisting field staff as needed.
  • Serve as back-up to assigned staff as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET-SENIOR BANKING ANALYST Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: 2-4 years' experience in retail or commercial banking, accounting, or finance with an understanding of banking and/or treasury management required. Experience with HUD and LIHTC properties is a plus. Mental: Must have good communication, analytical, problem solving, customer service, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to learn quickly and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is critical. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English and industry specific terms. Skills: Must have strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with banking and cash management systems is a plus.
