The IT Professional - Business Systems Analysis leads the identification, evaluation, and documentation of technical solutions to meet customer requirements. Leads scoping, impact analysis, and requirements definition activities. Coordinates with design, development, and testing teams on in-flight changes. Performs defect root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions. Performs business process analysis in response to inquiries from clients and functional domains. Provides coaching to more junior BSAs. Focus of this role is on complex business processes and solutions which may span multiple functional domains and applications.

What the day will look like

  • Leads requirements management process through evaluation of Change Requests with respect to solution options, estimating, and impact analysis for large complexity business processes and solutions.
  • Leads stakeholders and aligned technical and functional domains through development of business requirements.
  • Participates in project planning, status, and review meetings.
  • Supports development life cycle activities through coordination with design and development teams. Provides input to release manager to support deployment planning activities.
  • Provides input into testing scenarios to ensure appropriate test coverage and traceability of test scenarios back to requirements. Reviews test plans and results to confirm proper coverage, validity, and expected results are achieved.
  • Ensures the overall technical delivery for aligned projects meet the defined success criteria.
  • Maintains working relationships with internal and client operational and technical contacts in support of ongoing operational effectiveness.
  • Analyzes business processes and develops insights and recommended actions in support of issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in Root Cause analysis for defects and process issues including identification and assessment of options for corrective action/continuous improvement.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to junior BSAs; Serves as a recognized Subject Matter Expert in focus area.

Skills and experience that will lead to success.

  • Client implementation and understanding of business systems
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst is highly desirable.
  • Clear understanding of various technology disciplines (.NET, SQL, Mainframe, AS400, Server, Network and Telecommunications as it pertains to business processes)
  • Experience in using DEVOPS
  • Previous IT experience as a Developer is a plus
  • Previous experience defining requirements for web application, web services, integration engines and back-office processing
  • Knowledge of creating basic SQL Queries from scratch and querying SQL tables
  • MS-Project; VISIO; Excel; Word or equivalent tools are pluses
  • Strong knowledge in Agile/Scrum environment
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $92000- $115,000, annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
