We are actively looking for a Senior Total Rewards Specialist with Compensation experience to join our Human Resources/Total Rewards team. As part of the Human Resources Group, the Senior Sr. Total Rewards Specialist will play a critical role in assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of the compensation programs that support the company's strategic objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of compensation principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and administering compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate employees. This role often involves a blend of analytical, consultative, and project management responsibilities. The Senior Total Rewards Specialist is a highly analytical and strategic individual who uses data-driven insights to ensure the organization's compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and effective in achieving business goals. They are often seen as subject matter experts who can translate complex compensation concepts into actionable recommendations for various stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Compensation Strategy: Actively participate in and implement compensation strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to ensure competitive pay practices. Benchmark positions against market data and recommend adjustments as necessary. Conduct extensive market research and participate in salary surveys to gather competitive compensation data. Analyze this data to ensure the company's compensation programs (base pay, bonuses, equity) remain competitive in the market
  • Salary Structure Development: Design, evaluate, and maintain salary structures, pay grades, and pay ranges for various job roles and families. This involves considering internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Reporting and Insights: Develop dashboards and reports that provide insights into compensation trends, incentive structures, and workforce analytics. Present findings and recommendations to HR business partners, business leaders, and management
  • Job Evaluation: Evaluate and classify jobs using established methodologies. Ensure job descriptions are accurate and up to date. Conduct job evaluations and leveling to determine appropriate compensation levels and FLSA exemption status, ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization. This involves analyzing job descriptions, responsibilities, and requirements
  • Salary Surveys: Participate in and analyze salary surveys to gather market data. Utilize survey results to make informed compensation decisions
  • Complex Data Analysis: Analyze compensation data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management. Analyze large and complex datasets related to compensation, including base pay, incentives, and equity. This requires advanced proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
  • Compensation Modeling and Forecasting: Create and maintain compensation models to project annual incentive results, budget for salary increases, and support financial planning related to compensation programs
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in legislation affecting compensation practices. Recommend necessary policy changes
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment of compensation programs with overall business strategy. Provide expert guidance and consultation to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, business leaders, and managers on a wide range of compensation matters, including offer recommendations, promotions, reclassifications, and compensation philosophy
  • Employee Communication: Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees about compensation programs and policies
  • Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects related to compensation, such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and policy reviews. Lead or significantly support the management of the annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, bonus planning, and pay adjustments. This involves data audits, system testing, communications, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in compensation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within the HR function as well as across the business and at all levels of the organization

Preferred education and experience

  • Global compensation experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification preferred
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:

$113,000 to $150,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California markets.

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
