We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Application Developer to join a high-performing team supporting mission-critical applications. This role involves maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while contributing to new development initiatives using Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will have strong COBOL and CICS experience and be comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
*Key Responsibilities* * Analyze, develop, test, and maintain applications in COBOL and CICS. * Support and troubleshoot existing systems and services. * Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and implement solutions. * Participate in Agile development processes and daily team activities. * Perform full-stack development including front-end, middle-tier, and back-end components. * Maintain legacy applications and contribute to modernization efforts. * Ensure adherence to departmental standards and best practices. *Required Qualifications* * Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience with 5+ years in development). * Recent hands-on experience (within the last year) coding in COBOL and CICS. * Proficiency with JCL, job scheduling, and IBM mainframe (z/OS) environments. * Experience with SQL, DB2, QMF, and XPEDITER. * Familiarity with TSO and Visual Studio for source control. * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work on-site in Lincoln, NE two days per week (no exceptions). * Reliable and consistent attendance. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with MicroFocus COBOL, App Master Builder, and Native COBOL. * Background in highway inventory systems or transportation-related applications. * Experience with SQL Server 2012+, ASP.NET, C#, Web/Windows Services, and SSRS. * Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies (2+ years preferred). * Experience with mainframe migration (re-hosting or re-platforming). *Not accepting C2C candidates at this time. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
