What You'll do:

Position Overview:

The Finance Analyst Intern will support our Program Control team in providing financial insight and analysis across key government contracts and internal programs. This is an ideal opportunity for a college student to apply financial concepts in a real-world setting while gaining hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost control. No prior experience is required-just a strong interest in supporting data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of contract budgets, cash forecasts, and sales outlooks. Gain exposure to funding profiles and how financial data supports program decisions.
  • Program Cost Monitoring: Support the tracking of actual costs versus budget for major contracts. Learn how to apply Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts and help develop visibility reports, cost risk assessments, and estimates to complete (ETCs).
  • Financial Reporting: Help prepare internal financial reports, dashboards, and performance presentations (IPRS, BARs, etc.). Learn how to communicate financial status clearly and concisely to leadership.
  • Professional Development: Actively build financial and analytical skills by completing online courses as part of our Finance Analyst Learning Path, designed to accelerate your understanding of program finance, EVM, and reporting tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in applying financial principles in a project-based environment and supporting complex, real-world contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • A quick learner, enthusiastic about program finance, and excited to contribute to mission-critical projects.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$30,680.00 - $31,720.00
