Minimum Experience/Education |
Currently licensed as a registered nurse in NC or eligible for licensure and in good standing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (
BSN). Ability to convey complex ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, and to work independently with minimal supervision. |
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
Preferred: Master's degree or progress towards
MSN in nursing. Two years recent experience as an RN. Previous teaching or tutoring experience. Ability to work with students with varied backgrounds and learning styles. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
This person should be strongly committed to supporting the educational needs of nursing students toward academic and clinical success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nursing education and dedicated to facilitating student success. Expectations are for tutoring sessions to be tailored to small groups and/or individuals as needed. The focus of sessions may vary such as coursework reinforcement, skills remediation, stress management, study and test-taking strategies. Close collaboration with course faculty will be needed to align tutoring sessions with course and student objectives. Excellent organizational skills, professional conduct and reliability are expected for success in this role. |
