This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work 12 days per month during the first six months of employment. After that, the requirement shifts to 6 on-site workdays per month; however, based on business needs, additional on-site presence may be required.

Summary:

The Provider Recruiter is responsible for managing the full cycle recruitment of providers across our health system, which includes two hospitals campuses, six regional health centers and over 50 primary and specialty locations. This role ensures a seamless recruitment process from sourcing and selection to onboarding, playing a critical role in securing top-tier provider talent. The recruiter builds and maintains strong relationships with hiring managers, collaborates with peers and networks with colleagues in the field to expose Akron Children's to best in class recruitment practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary resources for hiring department and leadership throughout the recruitment process. Work closely with leadership to understand their hiring needs and help them refine their recruitment strategies by sharing best practices and market trends.
  2. Work with Sourcing Specialist to create and post provider opportunities in the applicant tracking system. Use various channels to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  3. Promote Akron Children's as an employer of choice through multiple media formats, postings and attendance at local and national conferences and career fairs. Remain up to date on recruitment trends, compensation, and benefit offerings.
  4. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure a smooth transition for candidates throughout the recruitment process and post-hire transition.
  5. Prepare and present timely and accurate recruitment metrics to provider and human resources leadership.
  6. Work with legal team and professional associations to remain current on immigration and legal matters relative to provider recruitment.
  7. Perform other duties as required to support the recruitment function.

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience with all aspects of provider recruitment and candidate support including conducting candidate visits, and explaining contract offerings such as loan assistance, relocation, and other benefits.
  2. Experience using an applicant tracking system to enhance the provider application process and to measure recruitment targets
  3. Ability to work with minimal supervision/direction while managing deadlines and stressful situations required.
  4. Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize large volume of work in accordance with changing deadlines.
  5. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  6. Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field is required
  2. Certification: Certification with AAPPR is preferred.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital recruitment environment.
  4. Years of experience supervising: None.

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office/remote setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.00a through 5.00p. Overnight and weekend travel may be occasionally required.
