Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for
the project management office(
PMO) within central IT. This position will be involved in leadership and overall planning, execution, and delivery of IT related complex projects including an
ERP implementation project. This position will also manage a team of project managers. This role will lead the
PMO and the execution of project management of key university projects.
This role will assist in coordination of the architecture, design and timely implementation of Workday's Platform (Finance,
HCM, Payroll, et al.) and Student Information System (
SIS) modules with the implementation partner. Leveraging proven track record of successfully managing large-scale enterprise system (
ERP) implementations, preferably with expertise in Workday and/or
SAP environments, this role entails strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, and be able to effectively manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Effective collaboration with business units is a key requirement. |
Primary Responsibilities |
- Manage and lead the project management office
- Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through closure, ensuring adherence to project management practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) as prescribed/preferred by the implementation partner and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with the implementation partner and stakeholders.
- Manage project scope, ensuring that changes are properly documented, evaluated, and approved. Monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and escalate risks as needed. Manage project budget, track expenses, and ensure that the project is delivered within budget.
- Manage stakeholder engagement forums to ensure alignment, transparency, and accountability throughout the implementation.
- Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Oversee the implementation of Workday modules, including but not limited to Finance, HCM, Payroll, and Student Information System.
- Collaborate with implementation partners and internal teams to ensure successful configuration, integration, and deployment of the Workday system.
- Ensure that the Workday implementation aligns with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Drive change management efforts to support the adoption of Workday across the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to functional and technical teams throughout the implementation process.
- Ensure that the Workday solution meets the organization's business requirements and objectives. Facilitate organizational readiness assessments and stakeholder communications, tailoring messaging to diverse user groups to foster understanding, reduce resistance, and build support for the transformation..
- Manage the integration of Workday with other systems, ensuring data integrity, security and seamless data flow.
- Lead quality assurance efforts, including system testing (unit, integration, user acceptance), issue tracking, and resolution to ensure the Workday platform functions as intended before go-live.

Qualifications |
Degree in computer science, management information systems, information security, business or public administration.
- Experience with Enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation, Business process engineering
- Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP HANA database.
- Experience with Workday or other SaaS-based ERP implementations (preferred).
- Proven project planning and execution skills. PMP certification preferred.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems, particularly in Finance, HCM, Payroll, and Student modules.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
- Familiarity with change management principles and best practices.
- Awareness of data privacy, security, and compliance standards
- Understanding of systems integration practices and middleware solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation abilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams with diverse technical and functional backgrounds.
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to anticipate roadblocks and proactively identify and implement mitigation strategies.
