Description

XRF Product Applications Scientist for Rigaku Americas Holding, Inc. dba Rigaku Americas (The Woodlands, TX 77381). Independently develop, validate, execute and communicate X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analytical method details for a variety of materials and matrices to guide customers to meet various analytical goals across key industries. Key industries to focus on include thin film applications for solar companies and semi-conductor manufacturers; sulfur, polymers and other fuel applications for oil and gas; cement and mining applications for cement manufacturing and mining companies; and quality control for various government and industry agencies. Demonstrate the use and application of both Wavelength Dispersive XRF (WDXRF) and Energy Dispersive XRF (EDXRF) instrumentation (such as ZSX Primus IV, ZSX Primus IVi, ZSX Primus III Next, Supermini200, Micro-Z ULS, Simultix 15, NEX CG II, NEX DE, NEX QC+) that provide elemental compositional information of materials (i.e. how much of each element makes up a material) at customer sites and remotely. Utilize experience in XRF analysis and in operating XRF instrumentation, including knowledge of what the XRF instruments are used for and how they function, in order to assist customers and troubleshoot. Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Service and Business Development Teams. Record, evaluate, interpret and summarize technical data in reports, memos and other documents. Perform demonstrations of Rigaku XRF equipment, train new users and support existing users. Build rapport with customers quickly and confidently, assisting them with questions and concerns. Document activities, processes and results in an organized and logical fashion. Address applications questions for potential and existing XRF customers. Produce materials for and host internal and external training relating to XRF methods and experimental techniques. Train lower-level Scientists, specifically entry-level XRF Applications Scientists, that provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for Rigaku's North, Central, and South American customer base and sales personnel. Participate in project planning. Update and improve process improvements. Provide technical sales support and methods development for Rigaku's North and South American customer base. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the pre-sales and post-sales processes. Understand and comply with good laboratory practices, Standard Operating Procedures and other company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field
  • 2 years of experience in XRF analysis
  • Requires 15% travel to Rigaku sites and client sites in the U.S.
