The Opportunity

As the Safety Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing our organization's safety performance and risk management capabilities. Leveraging advanced Business Analysis skills and communication skills, you will derive and be a key communicator on actionable insights from safety data to support better decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Key contact for internal safety reporting, including development of executive-level presentations, board reports, and monthly safety metrics across multiple safety domains (Safety Culture, Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Contractor Safety) and collaboration with cross-functional teams to produce comprehensive safety documentation and scorecards
  • Facilitate weekly Business Unit safety reviews, including tracking and analysis of recordable incidents, Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) classified events, Process Safety Incidents, and management of open/overdue safety investigations.
  • Coordinate Process Safety reporting processes, including monthly review of Tier 1, 2, and 3 events in Enablon with the Process Safety Team, manage classification of incidents, establish clear reporting timelines, and foster collaborative communication between Analytics and Process Safety teams to ensure accurate and timely data reporting
  • Key contributor for monthly safety scorecard development process, including validating incident details in Enablon for accuracy, determining recordability status, preparing SIF classification assessments, managing employee and contractor exposure data following reorganizations, and actively participating in Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) review sessions to ensure comprehensive safety performance tracking
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on incident classification protocols, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) classifications, Total Recordable Cases, Away from Work Cases, and Vehicle Incidents, while providing authoritative guidance on proper incident categorization and facilitating critical incident review discussions.
  • Deliver specialized ad-hoc presentations and training sessions, including SIF 101 orientation, Enablon incident reporting system training, and Power BI data visualization walkthroughs, utilizing strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively communicate monthly safety reporting, trend analysis, and key safety focal points to leadership teams and Business Unit stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Business Analysis, Business, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, analyzing safety metrics and creating executive-level reports with demonstrated ability to translate complex safety data into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of safety incident classification protocols and experience with safety reporting frameworks.
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation abilities with experience delivering technical content to diverse audiences including executive Base leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills to effectively translate and present data insights into actionable recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating safety review meetings and collaborative sessions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including safety, operations, and IT
  • Strong attention to detail for data validation and quality assurance
  • Project management skills to coordinate reporting cycles and deadlines
  • Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies
