Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Classification:Hourly

Reports To: Plant Manager

Department: Plant Administration

Summary of Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinatorprovides support to management for coordination and administration of overall facility needs related to safety the workplace.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Partner with Leadership Team for continuous improvement in the Pregis World Class 7 Elements of Safety Program.
• Lead all new employee safety orientation
• Facilitate Safety Mentorship process for new employees.
• Schedule, conduct and track monthly JJ Keller safety training.
• Schedule and assign monthly EASE auditing to site personnel appropriately.
• Maintain safety communication wall and electronic information stations throughout the facility.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all safety supplies.
• Maintain and record OSHA log and upload RCAs into SharePoint
• Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Assist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance.Develop and update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Machine Guarding AssessmentsMaintain safety MDI communication boards Performs other duties as assigned to support the leadership team in achieving the site's goals

• Exposure to moving equipment.
• Inside work
• Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Humidity may exceed 80%
• Noise may exceed 85dB+

Physical Characteristics

• Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%
• Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs)
• Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.
• If requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship to the business.

Position Type

• Hourly, full time
• 40 hours per week, (M-F, 8 hours per day)
• Ability to work overtime as needed by the business.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
