Production Support Coordinator Position Summary/Essential Functions: The Production Support Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining the overhaul components. This role also provides the various value streams with assistance in establishing effective material flow and replenishment to achieve premier customer service and lower inventory. The Production Support Coordinator must effectively interface with Cell Technicians/Operators, Cell Technical Leads, Value Stream Leaders and others. Works with minimal daily supervision but keeps Value Stream Leaders and Continuous Improvement Leader informed of relevant material/information flow activities. Responsibilities:
- Performs the tugger route efficiently, accurately and reliably.
- Stocks and allocates assembly and kanban jobs.
- Strictly manages the kanban cards and ensures the accuracy of the replenishment system.
- Interacts with Consumables/Supermarket attendant as material is received and allocates bins where necessary.
- Replenishes empty line stock signals and kits low volume components as required.
- Assists with troubleshooting material flow and information flow problems.
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing the proper safety equipment and following procedures.
- Proactively identifies and takes corrective action or eliminates unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Keeps work areas clean and organized for self and others daily.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- A minimum of 6 months experience in related product support role.
- Direct industry related experience in assembly/test in a high technology manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Aerospace products desired.
- Able to work independently with limited supervisory guidance.
- Prior knowledge of components and flow of material.
- Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
- Able to implement and effectively apply lean initiatives.
- Possess effective interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a high performing team environment.
- Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications. Able to use employee self-service system to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e.TORS, e-mail).
- Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
- Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. Job involves frequent lifting and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
