The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Industry and Security Analysis Group (ISAG) within JOID provides analytical, technical, and program support to promote, grow, and protect the defense industrial base (DIB). ISAG's support spans DoD, Federal Agencies, and International Partners to deliver critical decision support to national security leaders. Our team informs policy decisions, enables execution of comprehensive strategies and monitors and reports on the effectiveness of implementation, which enables senior leaders to execute strategies for developing and sustaining a robust industrial base. From policy to practice, we are a team of economic and national security professionals providing innovative solutions for the most pressing security challenges. We have an immediate need for a Language Analyst to provide hybrid support at the Forrestal Building in Washington, DC. Responsibilities The Language Analyst will support the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) with technical and program support services for Economic Security and Global Investments' (ESGI) mission to ensure DOE distributed funds are free of Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) vulnerabilities and influence. The analyst will conduct reading and translation from Mandarin to English, data analysis, as well as technical and program support to ESGI in overseeing continuous monitoring of MESC awarded funds. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the terms and conditions of the awards are met, establish workflows and develop standard operating procedures for open source continuous-monitoring capabilities, conduct analytic deep-dives on all applicable awards using open source and/or classified tools, and provide foreign influence and monitoring support based on risk-based matrixes and triage. The analyst will work independently and within a small team construct to make investment recommendations, and clearly communicate complex concepts by developing correspondence, reports, and briefs for MESC leadership.
