Dayton T. Brown, Inc. is a premier leader as an independent testing laboratory providing testing and engineering services. We support customers across all platforms and services in the military, aerospace, shipboard, railway, weapons manufacturing, automotive, and consumer industries worldwide.

The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, must take a hands-on approach to their work, be flexible in their duties, and be a proven self-starter.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Oversee the design and execution of numerous high-profile, challenging test programs
  • Manage all phases of the tests and expected to learn environmental and vibration testing to specs such as MIL-STD810 and DO-160


    • Including scheduling, testing, and budgeting of the programs


  • Take ownership of continuous improvement activities as they see them in the lab
  • Complete small to medium programs (up to $1M)
  • Determine the best way to set up and perform tests
  • Captures/documents out-of-scope efforts and reports back to the customer promptly
  • Design test setups
  • Write procedures when needed
  • Write reports based on testing results while testing is underway
  • Direct technicians/customers on best test practices
  • Create long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Responsible for their program's profit and losses
  • Quote future programs



Required Qualifications:



  • US Citizenship
  • 4 year bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience with engineering testing
  • Strong engineering and mathematics background
  • Must be able to plan out jobs in advance and recognize/diffuse any potential issues before starting the test
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to manage a program, keeping it on track (both schedule and budget)
  • Ability to work overtime to meet deadlines
  • Must be hands-on and able to use hand tools

  • Ability to troubleshoot ideas outside the box
  • Ability to promote continuous improvement and be process-driven
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Very detail-oriented
  • Experience managing projects to a budget and driving profitability
