What is The Role

To support our growth and enable us to scale efficiently, we are seeking an outstandingStrategy & Operations Manager to help drive sales and product strategy, planning, reporting, and analysis efforts in our Self-Service Cloud business! The Strategy & Operations Manager will be responsible for the analytical aspects of key business decisions, including target setting, business reporting, go-to-market strategies, prioritization, process improvement, metrics and dashboards.

As a Strategy & Operations Manager, you will work cross-functionally to drive efficiency and performance improvement across multiple operational, product adoption, and financial metrics globally. You will generate reports and analysis, providing insights that support decision-making and help define, land, and complete key strategic priorities for our month-to-month cloud customers. You will support running the business cadence, helping navigate the complexities of systems and tools, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems, design, manage, and optimally deliver projects against operational standards.

In this role, you will help scale and streamline the operations of our Customer Engineers by providing the incentives, systems and business insights the organization needs to optimize performance, effectiveness and productivity. You will be a proactive driver of change, always looking for opportunities to improve the performance of the Self Service business.

Responsibilities will include detailed analyses on consumption trends, product adoption, customer journeys, growth forecasting, and target design. The Strategy & Operations Manager enjoys analyzing data, loves redefining the inefficient, and is not afraid to "roll up their sleeves". Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Engineering & Support Strategy & Operations, this person will be results-oriented, flexible, and eager to acquire new skills and knowledge.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Partner closely with product engineering and marketing to develop actionable, measurable projects and programs that accelerate consumption growth, customer retention, and improve productivity.
  • Design incentive structures and targets supporting our Self-Service Cloud business, including for Cloud Monthly Customer Engineers and Sales.
  • Perform data analysis and modeling to identify trends and efficiency opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and improve systems, tools and dashboards to support the needs of the team and key partners.
  • Engage in ad-hoc analyses to understand business performance/user engagement metrics, Key Performance Indicators and provide concise summaries and recommendations to management on topics from go-to-market strategies, product journey improvements, resource allocation and more.
  • Identify levers for driving balanced product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of processes, policy and tools to drive productivity and remove friction.
What You Bring
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years work experience in Sales or Field Operations, Strategy, FP&A, Management Consulting, or similar field in SaaS organizations with strong exposure to go-to-market and product strategy.
  • Proven ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions, and craft recommendations and results into easily digestible messages, communications, and executive presentations.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • Highly collaborative style and the ability to adjust on the fly to new demands with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up environment.
  • Experience with the Salesforce.com platform
  • Power user proficiency with the MS Office suite (especially MS Excel and MS Powerpoint).
  • SQL experience
  • Experience with Elasticsearch or Kibana a bonus

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.This role does not have a variable compensation component.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

The typical starting salary range for this role is:

$89,100-$140,900 USD

The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:

$106,800-$168,900 USD
