Job Summary

The Business Continuity Lead Analyst will serve a crucial enterprise role that ensures the resilience and continuation of operations within the organization. This position will help strategically support an enterprise-wide business continuity program in the company for impacts to any level of the organization. The Business Continuity Lead Analyst will be responsible for implementing a framework and methodology for completion of continuity plans by CenterPoint Energy business units, coordinating training and testing of plans, and communicating business continuity matters by developing and maintaining strong relationships with business units, peers, and company leaders. The incumbent will be a subject matter expert that supports the development of Business Impact Analysis (BIAs), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), and other program elements.

Essential Functions




  • Implement a short- and long-term strategy that identifies critical business areas, functions, and applications to maintain continued operations of the company and develops plans.


  • Serve as a subject matter expert in continuity programs and business continuity plan development.
  • Execute governance structure to track and effectively manage cross functional continuity work across the company.
  • Demonstrate expertise leading working groups on plan development consistent with best practices and frameworks.
  • Help lead cross functional teams to ensure integration of individual efforts across line organizations are fully integrated into a corporate continuity strategy.
  • Organize budget input and track expenses, ensure that project control systems are in place, and provide project status.
  • Develop strategies to identify critical functions for all operating units and develop business continuity plans to ensure strategies address the impact and maximum allowable outages of the functions are identified and properly planned for.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with industry peers and industry organizations to understand trends and best practices; makes recommendations and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Knowledgable of all applicable regulatory requirements and impacts to EP&R.



Education Description




  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, advanced degree preferred.





Experience




  • Requires 3 or more years working in the areas of business continuity or resiliency.



  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification preferred.



  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and leading new initiatives that introduce cross organizational change.
