We're looking for a proactive and experiencedProduction Supervisorto lead our CNC machine shop operations. In this role, you'll be instrumental in managing machining and post-machining processes, ensuring seamless operations before outside processing or assembly. You'll work closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production planning to drive continuous improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Production Supervisor, CNC Machine Shop (2nd Shift)

Job Purpose:

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development,and performance management of the staff. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:




  • Lead and manage daily operations for our CNC machining and post-machining departments.



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineering, quality, and production planning to achieve production goals.



  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction, tracking progress with clear metrics.



  • Guide and mentor your team to meet production targets, ensuring adherence to established guidelines, procedures, and policies.



  • Monitor daily unit or sub-unit operations, addressing issues as they arise.



  • Leverage your full knowledge of CNC machining to troubleshoot and optimize processes.



  • Effectively communicate and influence others in sensitive situations, maintaining strong working relationships.



  • Provide operational support for the manufacture of complex subassemblies and final assemblies.



  • Support the transition of new products into sustaining production.



  • Assist in materials evaluation and testing.



  • Potentially interface with customers and suppliers on technical issues.



  • Support the development of new or optimization of existing processes, utilizing Six Sigma tools as appropriate.



  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the operations group.



  • Support team members' development plans and contribute to succession planning.





Education and Experience:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or 2-year Technical Degree preferred.



  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.



  • Experience in CNC machining or a related metal fabrication manufacturing environment is required.



  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) preferred.



  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Google Suite.



  • Excellent time management and communication skills (verbal and written).



  • A proactive and action-oriented approach with a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
