CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within NASA, NOAA, USGS and the NNSA, while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.

Part of CSG, the Operational Programs Directorate (OPD) provides program management and systems engineering support to the Nation's weather satellite and land mapping programs. This support spans all mission phases, from concept through design, development, deployment, and operations.

OPD is looking for a Program Coordinator (Project Management Staff IV- Business Administration - General Program Management Office) supporting executive level NASA Program Offices insight across all aspects of project planning, scheduling, cost management, and performance tracking across programs, ensuring projects adhere to budget, timelines, and technical requirements by leading the implementation of robust planning and control methodologies, monitoring progress and identification of potential risks, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive mission success.

Work Model

This is a full-time position that can be based at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center or our Aerospace offices in Greenbelt, MD or Crystal City, VA. This position offers a hybrid work model that combines 4 regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identify cross-cutting Program Office challenges that involve Service, Agency, and/or Departmental levels. In coordination with Program Office leadership, drive communication, investigation, and resolution of these challenges.
  • Coordinate and provide materials to support program-related decisions at the Program Office, Service, Agency, and Departmental levels. This includes preparation of briefing materials, talking points, graphics, presentations, reports, and decision memoranda in collaboration with technical and programmatic subject matter experts.
  • Provide program management subject matter expertise by actively participating in high-level decisional meetings and discussions at the Program Office, Service, Agency, and Departmental levels, as requested.
  • Provide strategic thinking and input to Program Office leadership on engagement opportunities with stakeholders to move the Programs forward.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously tracking project progress against the baseline using metrics, identifying deviations, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential program risks, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Cost Control: Managing program budgets, forecasting future expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance program planning and control processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with government standards.

What You Need to be Successful:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related discipline
  • 15 or more years of progressively responsible program management office experience with credible success in one or more of the following areas:
  • Project Management: schedule, budget, and execution
  • Regulatory and Compliance Administration
  • Internal and External Process Improvement
  • Up-Channel Communications and Reporting
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Direct experience with the government agencies OPD supports: NOAA, NASA, and/or USGS
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to export, maintain, and refine data for analysis.
  • Superior analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks and provide direction on competing priorities.
  • Excellent written communication skills - organize complex materials and concepts in clear and logical manner
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, persuasive; builds consensus through speaking; polished, professional style
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically approx. 10%
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
