Job Summary
-
The Department of General Services is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to manage Surplus, Records, and the DGS Warehouse. This role requires expertise in personnel supervision, budget oversight, and operational management for surplus property and records administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient surplus operations, overseeing records management, and maintaining DGS warehouse resources while ensuring compliance with County policies and Federal and State regulations.
This position reports to the DGS Division Manager of Internal Services and directly supervises a team of five employees.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Surplus Operations: * Oversees the administration of surplus property operations, serving as the primary contact for Public Surplus representatives * Manages the Public Surplus website, develops auction terms and conditions, and coordinates surplus advertising with Public Affairs * Responds to customer inquiries, providing courteous and timely customer service * Oversees monthly online reporting for sales, fixed assets, and vehicle transactions * Supervises offsite surplus operations, facilitating agreements, sales, and removals to optimize resource utilization
Records Management: * Directs and manages County Records Center operations, ensuring efficient records retention and destruction in compliance with federal, state, and County regulations and policies * Provides training and guidance to more than 100 departmental Records Coordinators * Serves as the Designated Records Officer, reviewing and approving records destruction requests for non-constitutional departments * Administers the Document Destruction Contract * Oversees recurring shredding services * Represents Loudoun County as a member of the Virginia Association of Government Archives & Records Administrators (VAGARA)
DGS Warehouse: * Ensures efficient inventory control through management and oversight of PPE supplies and warehouse space * Serves as the designated Staging Support Site Position as part of Loudoun County's Emergency Operations Plan, ensuring preparedness and logistical coordination during emergency response efforts
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma; four (4) years of experience in assigned or related work area including record retention and computer technology with at least six (6) months of experience with projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer Certified Records Analyst (CRA) or Certified Records Manager (CRM).
