Assembly Mechanic- Diesel Mechanic

  • Assembly of new build jet engines , with the potential for rebuild/overhaul
  • Candidates coming from the military who have repaired/maintained powerplant equipment are first priority, with A&P licensed technicians coming in closely behind.
  • Working from tool lists, BOMs, and instructions that are sequential in nature, all materials are delivered to the assembler

    • Materials are paper based as well as electronic (on a computer)


  • All work is mechanical, sub-assemblies of engines as well as final assembly of the full unit
  • Working at a bench or in an assembly area where engines are hanging so could perform work sitting or standing
  • One engine takes 500-1000 hours for full build out
  • Work is not repetitive, and will change on a daily basis
  • Quality: will inspect their own work as well as others' work, from inspection sheets which outline what to inspect and how to inspect. No testing will be required
  • Tools used: hand tools - power and manual, as well as torque wrenches. Torque values are provided (not determined by the technician) but technicians MUST know torque values according to fastener and work performed
  • Operating hoists and pallet jacks, no overhead cranes, or forklifts.
  • Applicable skillsets : A&P Mechanics (licensed), Diesel Mechanics
