JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: Yes JOB SUMMARY The Supervisor Radiology is responsible for assisting with the daily operations and providing technical expertise in the radiology department. The Supervisor Radiology will provide support for all aspects of customer service for the medical imaging department. This individual provides assistance to the Manager of Medical Imaging in the development of the operating/capital budget, policy, and procedure review, regulatory compliance, performance improvement and other functions as necessary. The Supervisor Radiology complies with and enforces established policies, procedures, and standards regarding customer satisfaction, positive work environment and financial stewardship. The Supervisor Radiology will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, call shifts, overtime and holidays. Develop operating policies and procedures (protocols) in conjunction with the manager. Regulatory requirements are ensured such that the department successfully passes all review with no serious deficiencies. Assists with the development and execution of departmental budgets in conjunction with the manager according to technology, current and projected volumes. This includes adjusting staffing as needed to ensure patient safety and in accordance with staffing to volume targets. The capital budget is developed in conjunction with the manager. Quality Improvement: Monitors quality of the department's core processes, consistently reviewing and looking for process improvement opportunities. Provides team members with annual feedback on performance, including performance improvement plans. Implements corrective actions, written and oral, and conducts performance evaluations. Effectively addresses personnel issues in order to promote a productive and healthy work environment. Contributes to management, education, and professional development of team members, students and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.Provide staffing coverage to meet the needs of the department. Adheres to prescribed standards for Radiation Safety, MRI Safety, and Infection Control. Provides patient and family education related to imaging procedures. Assists in training and orientation of departmental leaders, team members and students. Performs other job duties as requested. It is the expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient-centered focus while seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes.Facilitates coordination of services and manages the daily operations.Performs procedures and demonstrate technical expertise in the designated modality. Functions as the PACS super user.Develops ongoing public relations and working relationships with the community and referring area physicians, promoting the modalities.Assists with coordination of patient exam scheduling. Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.
Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School or GED required - Graduate ofan accredited Radiology Program for Radiologic Technologist. Experience: 2 Years Radiology experience required. Licensure: Current ARRT registry in good standing. Certification and registration in Computed Tomography(CT) required. Certification and registration in MRI (MR) preferred. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code: 13A, Imaging Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
