The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

This per diem position involves providing direct physical therapy services to adults with brain injuries, focusing on improving physical mobility, strength, and overall functional independence. The role requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and direct support staff, to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Physical Therapy Degree from an accredited program
  • NJ Physical Therapy License
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider Certification
  • Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties
  • Ability to safely and effectively handle members in therapy settings, including standing, walking, lifting, and transferring individuals as needed
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and clinical application of physical therapy, specifically related to individuals with brain injuries and neurological conditions
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate treatment plans, progress, and outcomes to members, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Evidence of continuing education to meet licensing requirements

Preferred:

  • Doctoral Degree
  • Completion of a pediatric affiliation
  • Experience working with individuals with brain injuries or other neurological disorders
  • Certification in Brain Injury

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ Physical Therapy License
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem
  • Some Evenings
  • Working in a Clubhouse setting

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver effective physical therapy services tailored to the specific needs of the population served

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess physical mobility, strength, and functional capacity in individuals with brain injuries

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving physical functioning, balance, coordination, and strength

  • Monitor and document member progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, holistic care for members

  • Provide education to members and their families regarding home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and physical wellness strategies

  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of therapy services, in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary discussions regarding member care plans

  • Adhere to productivity standards and demonstrate flexibility in managing treatment schedules to accommodate changes in census, cancellations, and no shows

  • Provide in service training to staff as requested

  • Participate in projects that support the departments and organizations goals and missions

  • Remain knowledgeable of the latest physical therapy techniques and interventions, integrating evidence based practices into treatment plans
