Position Title: Utility Specialist
Wage: $18.00/Hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 3:00PM - 11:30PM (Monday - Friday) QPS Employment Group is seeking a Utility Specialist for a customer in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role includes cleaning, sanding, inspecting, and handling parts to ensure proper surface condition and safe processing. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Utility Specialist Responsibilities: - Load and unload deliveries while following all applicable handling guidelines - Prepare parts for coatings application which includes visual inspection, cleaning, sanding, hanging/fixturing, and transferring between sub-departments as needed - Assist in the preparation of ovens, ensuring correct temperature and cleanliness prior to and after use - Review paperwork for required processes, verifying that all requirements match in the production tracking software - Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring shop and work areas are clean and organized - Provide cross-functional support and perform additional duties as assigned or required Requirements for Utility Specialist: - At least one year of previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment - A detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines - Ability to adapt to frequent changes in a highly variable and challenging work environment - Ability to adhere to all applicable safety practices while working with and around hazardous chemicals - Computer literate with at least a basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications - Ability to stand for extended periods of time and handling parts ranging in size and weight up to 45 pounds, which may include repetitive motions and lifting - Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; bilingual in English / Spanish a plus QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
