The Senior Director, Primary Care Service Line is responsible for the management of programmatic development for a service line within the Inova health system. Provides operational support for the service line and related programs. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating Inova's patient care processes, service line outcomes and performance, and resource management. Responsible for fiscal and budgetary goals and management of service line programs. Leads service line administrative team and ensures proper work prioritization to accomplish the mission and vision of Inova's health system and the service line.
Sr Director, Primary Care Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of programmatic development for a service line with the Inova health system. Provides operational support for the service line and related programs. Works with service line triad and leadership team to develop programmatic growth opportunities and priorities.
- Facilitates and leads multi-disciplinary groups to develop and implement business and growth plans.
- Continuously assesses service line programs for areas of opportunity to include financial performance and service offerings.
- Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and non-clinical programs and services.
- Monitors and evaluates Inova's patient care processes, service line outcomes and performance, and resource management. Researches, identifies, and implements best practices to continuously improve patient care systems and patient outcomes across the service line.
- Develops and implements tools to ensure timely, accurate, and effective communication within the Service line, across Inova, and to the community. Continuously interacts with senior management, chairs, chiefs, medical directors and physicians, managers, community constituents, and other key stakeholders to proactively identify, communicate, and improve patient care systems and patient outcomes.
- Applies lean and project management principles to improve processes and outcomes and drive change.
- Responsible for fiscal and budgetary goals and management of Service line programs.
- Manages the annual budgeting process for the Service line in collaboration with the Service line triad and all hospital leadership. Manages teams focused on creating value for our patients. Examines opportunities for reduction of direct cost. Coordinates and monitors the development of long-range plans and annual budgets for the Service line and its program.
- Monitors operational and financial outcomes to provide continuity and ensures growth of specific services across the system. Performs data analytics, assesses the findings, and makes recommendations.
- Responsible for alignment of initiatives to overarching Inova and Service line strategic plans.
- Helps create superior patient care models that incorporate patient and clinician ease of use (access and flow) and delivers the best possible clinical outcomes.
Sr Director, Primary Care Minimum Requirements
- 7 years of related professional experience
- 2 years management experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
Sr Director, Primary Care Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving clinical programs in a matrixed environment.
- 2+ years experience in primary care or ambulatory service lines.
