Introduction to the job

ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers, the world's leading chipmakers, to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have three major R&D development centers in San Diego and San Jose CA as well as Wilton CT.

The EUV source team in San Diego operates in a fast-paced, uniquely innovative and challenging environment to create new-to-industry solutions with rapid productization to support an aggressive commercialization plan for the EUV lithography technology within ASML.The complexity of the EUV source makes for exciting and challenging demands on the Software Engineering department manager's team members. They are engaged in all phases of software development and integration involving sophisticated control algorithms implemented in real-time embedded software executing on multiple high speed computers, all working under extremely challenging dynamic conditions to produce stable EUV light.

Summary

We are looking for a versatile Software DevOps and Quality Architect with a passion for Software DevOps and Quality for distributed control systems. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining DevOps Roadmap, tools and infrastructure, as well as developing and implementing software test strategies to ensure high-quality delivery of controls and software sub-systems.

You will work with software architects, function architects, software DevOps team, test engineers and software developers.

Role and responsibilities

DevOps

  • Build and maintain DevOps roadmap and collaborate with stakeholders and DevOps team on roadmap updates, drive overall DevOps strategy.

  • Identify, introduce, and drive adoption of new DevOps tools.

  • Design and build infrastructure projects, including solution context and technical trade-offs.

  • Review and approve overall DevOps infrastructure design and technical solutions.

  • Lead and organize technical trainings and knowledge sharing

  • Collect and analyze end users' feedback on experiences with tooling and services and initiate effective actions.

  • Foster the culture of innovation and continuous improvement initiatives with other departments.

  • Lead implementation of DevOps practices and cultural changes.

Software Quality

  • Develop and implement software test automation roadmap and framework.

  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate quality practices into the software development lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and dashboards to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Establish and maintain development and test processes to ensure consistent and reliable software delivery.

  • Manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery.

  • Collaborate with functional teams on plant models for positive and negative test cases.

  • Train and mentor team members on software quality best practices and tools.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies to ensure software quality at all stages of development.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software quality assurance and testing.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in software quality assurance.

Education and experience

  • Minimum BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field; MS or Ph.D. is a plus.

  • 8-15+ years of experience in software test or development roles, with leadership experience in complex multi-processor distributed control systems.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills.

  • Expertise in optimizing system performance, managing large-scale distributed systems, and troubleshooting complex issues.

  • Strong Python knowledge and experience with Object-Oriented Design principles.

Skills

  • Ability to handle aggressive deadlines with agility and results-driven approach.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic email systems.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$144,000-240,000

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
