What you'll be doing

This position is under the direction of an immediate supervisor and provides services and support to the Opioid Treatment Program primarily in the dispensary area. The clinical assistant will have extensive interaction with a culturally diverse population of Treatment Services clients and the public to render services. The clinical assistant will be responsible for performing both administrative and clinical tasks within the dispensing clinic. This classification will work under general supervision with well-defined directives, instructions, and procedures.


Some Essential Functions Include:
  • Checks-in clients for dispensing and notifies clients of any alerts in the electronic health record that need to be addressed (E.g., financial holds, counselor notifications, staff communications, etc.).
    • Assist patients in signing release of information or consents.
    • Greets patients and manages patient flow from check in to all other disciplines.
  • Observes UA/BA specimen sample collection.
  • Manages large groups of clients, utilizing an array of de-escalation skills when necessary.
  • Communicates and enforces program policies and procedures as well as client expectations.

What we need from you

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Six months of relevant experience working in a criminal justice environment or working in a medical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with alcohol and/or drug dependent clients.
