We are seeking a driven and experienced Swiss/Turn Machining Technical Lead to join our team in a critical role focused on optimizing production performance, quality, and overall efficiency. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
- Responsible for aligning work to team members appropriately in their area and/or shift, communicating positively and thoroughly with leads in other areas and shifts to measure and achieve desired results (KPI's).
- Perform positive and effective shift turnover and hand off to achieve desired results (KPI's).
- Develop and maintain documentation to aid in process consistency, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Set up, program, and operate a variety of multi-axis Swiss-style CNC lathes to manufacture tight-tolerance components.
- Develop and optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and part quality.
- Complete and update set-up sheets and real time changes.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Work with Engineering to improve production processes using 6-sigma methodologies. Tools include, but are not limited to, process flow charts, value stream mapping; PFMEAs; fish-bone analyses; and design of experiments (DOE). Specify tooling and gaging required to support production operations.
- Responsible for the training and development of the team members in the department. This includes involvement in creating and implementing training plans and shadowing / coaching individuals.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues with processes and equipment. Escalate problems to and work with Engineering to find resolution.
- Communicate any production stoppages or constraints to all affected departments at time of observation.
- Assist with the interview and evaluation of potential new team members.
- Be a positive leader/role model within the department and company by living the company vision, mission, values and policies and communicating any potential misalignments to Management and / or Human Resources.
- Be a key leader in the promotion and integration of new ideas and process improvements.
- Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities may be added as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience; previous manufacturing experience preferred; previous work in a machine shop desired.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong machining and technical experience in related department and/or capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Strong people skills
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use micrometers, Vernier calipers, and other QA gauges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong problem solving, technical, decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.

1st shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00AM - 3:30PM + overtime as needed.
