What will do
A Quality Manager for fabrication shop ensures that fabricated components meet the required standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing process. This includes developing and implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections and testing, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. They also analyze data to identify areas for improvement and work to reduce defects and waste, ultimately contributing to the quality and efficiency of the fabrication operation.
How you will do it
* Develop and Implement Quality Control Systems:
Establish and maintain quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria for all fabrication processes.
* Conduct Inspections and Testing:
Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
* Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report on quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process improvement focus on scrap reduction.
* Training and Development:
Train fabrication personnel on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and quality control best practices.
* Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action:
Investigate and analyze the causes of quality issues, develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and scrap reduction..
* Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and improve overall quality.
* Documentation and Records:
Create and maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, inspections, and testing results.
What we look for
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
* 5-7 years of experience in quality control in manufacturing and / or fabrication process, preferable in a HVAC commodity.
* Strong understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
* Experience in coil fabrication, sheet metal process or a related manufacturing process.
* Knowledge of quality control tools and techniques, such as statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
* Experience with quality control documentation and record-keeping systems.
* Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations related to coil fabrication.
* Proven ability to work effectively in matrix organization and ability to manage and influence others.
* Problem solving certification preferred Green / Black Belt.
