PATH Success Coaches will play a key role in supporting our Pathways for Advancing and Thriving in Higher Education (PATH) Program students funded by the U.S. Department of Education Postsecondary Student Success Grant (PSSG). Position Duration: This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, grant-funded through June 30, 2028. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.



Responsibilities

    Support the PATH Program Manager in carrying out the PATH Program evaluation plan; meet regularly with PATH Program team to ensure adequate progress toward program goals and outcomes.
  • Provide one-on-one support to an assigned caseload of students; initiate proactive outreach to build strong relationships and provide holistic support and guidance.
  • Conduct academic coaching through personalized meetings that help students establish a success plan towards meeting their educational and career goals.
  • Monitor progress of assigned students through scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students' questions, concerns and needs.
  • Assist students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that impede academic success; empower students to learn time management and organization skills, practice self-regulation, and take ownership of their academic success.
  • Refer students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborate with others to monitor and accelerate their academic progress.
  • Using New York Tech's student success software, maintain comprehensive student reports, notes, and relevant attachments to track student progress and identify needed interventions.
  • Assist with the design, development, and facilitation of a second-year experience course, focusing on study skills, time management, purpose, goal setting, and academic strategies.
  • Attend on- and off- campus PATH program community-building events, workshops, and activities.
  • Stay current with coach training, trends in higher education, and best practices in student support.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • At least three years of experience working with college students in an academic advising or counseling role in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic policies, disciplines, coursework, and graduation requirements.
  • Experience working with underserved and historically disadvantaged students and demonstrated sensitivity to cultural diversity preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of computer information technology such as Microsoft Office or Google-suite and experience with PeopleSoft, EAB Navigate, Slate, or similar system required.
  • Prior work experience with a PSSG or similar federal grant programs a plus.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.



Minimum Salary

USD $65,000.00/Yr.


Maximum Salary

USD $69,000.00/Yr.
