Clariant is currently looking for a Maintenance Operations Coordinator to support the Catalysts business unit in Louisville, KY. The Maintenance Operations Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between Production and Maintenance, overseeing the qualification, prioritization, and coordination of all maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. This role plays a critical leadership position in breakdown management, safety oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives within the facility. This position is a full time, onsite opportunity. Responsibilities

* Review and verify maintenance work notifications for accuracy and proper prioritization

* Reassign minor maintenance tasks to production where appropriate

* Confirm work completion meets quality, housekeeping, and safety standards

* Manage maintenance backlog, including quality control, closure, and prioritization of work notifications

* Train staff on SAP/MES related to work order notifications

* Ensure compliance with local legal requirements and Clariant's internal policies

* Act as the plant's lead adviser for Environment, Safety, Health, and Administration (ESHA) topics

* Oversee ESHA training programs and ensure 24/7 team readiness for emergencies

* Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) tasks (i.e. SAMCO, PSM, etc.) are completed on schedule

* Serve as the Plant Incident Commander when on-site

* Initiate schedule breaks when urgent maintenance arises, defining requirements clearly

* Review maintenance backlog regularly to prioritize and expedite critical tasks

* Collaborate with planners/schedulers to develop weekly maintenance schedules

* Gather and consolidate feedback from production and maintenance stakeholders

* Lead response efforts for breakdowns, including resource coordination and troubleshooting

* Develop procedures for equipment cleaning/preparation and ensure timely resumption of operations

* Develop improvement projects based on key KPIs from both maintenance and production

* Drive performance in planning and execution, identifying and resolving inefficiencies

* Conduct and implement Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) studies

* Lead reliability study implementations as requested



Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or 10+ years of relevant operations leadership experience

* 5-10 years of production management experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

* Strong mechanical and spatial aptitude

* Experience with root cause analysis, lean principles, and six sigma methodologies

* High proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and workflow systems

* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

* Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset
