Job Purpose

As the Automation and Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems and control processes across our organization. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and the ability to lead a team of skilled technicians and engineers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of automation and control strategies to improve efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration and maintenance of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Support Production Operations with control related expertise within the department.
  • Lead and influence a team of control specialists across 3 shifts
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure the competency of the automation and controls team.
  • Design, program, troubleshoot and modify controls for new machines and retrofits with the latest control's technology.
  • Assist in solving problems involving process and control systems
  • Lead projects from concept through installation
  • Work along side Machine Designers and Project Managers to ensure projects are accurate and completed to expectations.


Education & Competencies Required/Preferred:



  • Must possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic with a passion to deliver the expected results
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical controls or equivalent work experience
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years engineering leadership experience
  • Automation & Integration experience required
  • Experience with conveyors and material handling control systems
  • Experience with CNC equipment operations preferred
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics
  • An overall understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Able to learn quickly and retain new information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Skills preferred
