As a Risk Manager at Capital One you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Risk Managers at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

As a Risk Manager for the Premium Products and Experiences team, you will have an opportunity to support a fast growing business through the product development lifecycle from ideation to execution. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison, interfacing with business partners, Tech, and other assurance functions, such as legal, compliance to drive meaningful reductions in risk

  • Lead and facilitate divisional RCSA, as well as other key assessments and provide recommendations on risks and mitigations

  • Synthesize data and reporting; perform analysis and bring valuable business insights to proactively identify risks and trends

  • Participate in or lead risk forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices

  • Advise and consult with business teams to help develop well-designed products, processes, and supporting technologies and implement risk management practices; support our business partners to drive the risk/return trade-off decisions

  • Be a part of leading and delivering on our well-managed agenda

  • Design, implement, and/or influence internal governance processes

  • Assess controls, and glean insights from issues and events across business areas

  • Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or control environment to mitigate risks (e.g. execution errors

  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, independently and with team collaboration

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of Financial Services Compliance experience or Risk Management experience or Card services experience

  • At least 2 years of Project Management experience

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

  • 1+ years experience working in an Agile environment

  • Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma or Business Process Management certification

  • PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Risk Manager Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Risk Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
