Job Details

The incumbent will lead all aspects of the manufacturing and distribution for efficient and effective operations. Responsible for implementing corporate wide distribution best practices, developing and executing strategies that optimize current distribution functions and enabling seamless integration of growth strategies business. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements. It is the associate's responsibility to observe all safety rules. Any condition thought to be hazardous or unsafe should be reported to your supervisor immediately.

  • Responsible for the outgoing quality, safety and efficacy of all finished product in compliance with all applicable specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and DEA regulations as well as DSCSA
  • Works closely with the VP General Manager to oversee and drive best practices throughout functional areas including: Production Manufacturing and Warehouse Operations.
  • Develops and implements all activities associated with the successful warehouse operations; ensures efficient working operation of automated warehouse systems and processes.
  • Develops all departmental budgets, goals, project plans and progress reports for Manufacturing, Production Planning, and Warehouse Operations. Leads Manufacturing and Warehouse Training programs.
  • Responsible for overall positive associate engagement., reviews, and approves standard operating procedures; makes observations and recommends improvements to promote best-practice efficiency in manufacturing and warehouse operations
  • Manages capital plan with a three-year time horizon, including accurate completion of CER's in order to meet documentation requirements Reviews and approves all capital improvement projects for areas of responsibility
  • Prepares on-going progress reports regarding progress against project plans and budgets.
  • Assist with planning and directing the layout of equipment, assembly methods and validation programs.
  • Coordinates with other internal project teams for implementation of manufacturing projects.
  • Maintains production and backorders at approved/ acceptable levels.
  • Responsible for driving best practices throughout the organization.
  • Manages capacity planning (2-year time horizon) including talent, space, equipment and units (sales volume)
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling exceptions.
  • Identifies, evaluates and establishes metrics that are aligned with both the fiscal and strategic plan.
  • Follows all GMP procedures.
  • Required to work various shifts, hours and weekends.
  • Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensures the highest levels of associate engagement are reached by:
    • Ensuring strong communication link between all departments with special focus on Quality and Regulatory Affairs team
    • Maintaining adequate staffing levels to ensure work-life-balance and minimizing overtime
    • Active talent development and performance management
    • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both internally and externally
    • Prioritizing and completing employee suggestions that improve safety, quality, productivity and cost

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering or supply chain with a minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience in the field. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experienced in leading and directing the work of others.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging operations and materials management systems.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills for multiple, large capital projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
