GENERAL FUNCTION: The Commercial Loan Funding-Boarding Manager directs the work of a group or multiple groups of employees in performing the funding and loan system input for new or renewed Business and Commercial Loans. The Manager will be responsible for the promptness and accuracy of funds disbursed based upon the settlement statement. The Manager will be responsible for the overall accuracy of the data entered into the various loan systems in accordance with the credit approval document and the executed loan documents. The Commercial Loan Funding-Boarding Manager works closely with the sales, credit and other Loan Operations personnel and external closing agents.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Constantly monitors work queues for deals in process to promptly follow up on funding requests and proactively aids in issue resolution.

  • Regularly reviews status with team and on an individual basis. providing feedback and direction on productivity

  • Establishes and maintains an effective dialogue with field sales personnel (RM, BBO, Financial Center Manager) to insure field personnel remain informed on each loan's status.

  • Establishes and maintains an effective follow up methodology to support achievement of the department's Service Level Agreement (SLA) goals and individual turn time goals.

  • Provides guidance and support to business partners in order to meet the needs of external customers.

  • Able to coach business partners on all Business Banking and Commercial Lending Loan Funding process.

  • Approve disbursement of loan proceeds to attorneys, title companies, customers, vendors, other banks and third parties.

  • Maintains the integrity of loan data by ensuring all terms of the approved loan are accurately incorporated in the loan system

  • Provides supervision, coaching and training. Mentors employees and develops skill through one on one training and coaching.

  • Maintains awareness of the status of new deals and existing pipeline, adjusts staffing as needed.

  • Evaluates Funding-Boarding Specialists to determine knowledge of policy/guidelines, products, compliance requirements, etc.

  • Meet with Internal Audit and Compliance on a regular basis to ensure that existing policies and procedures provide adequate controls to mitigate risks

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Four (4) years commercial loan funding, boarding, loan documentation, or related work experience.

  • Two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Thoroughly understands all Business Banking and Commercial loan products.

  • Thoroughly understands Commercial loan servicing systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of Business Banking and Commercial Lending Credit Policy/Guidelines.

  • Advanced knowledge of loan documentation, collateral evaluation, and credit documentation, local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in an automated loan origination environment preferred.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills evidenced in previous assignments.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of applicable bank policies and procedures.

  • Extensive knowledge of loan documents and requirements.

  • Extensive knowledge of commercial lending and loans.

  • Thorough knowledge of B2B, CCAS, AFS, Loan Doc Prep System, and other banking systems.

  • Good personal computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and email.

  • Self-starter and works with minimal direction.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills and team orientation.

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure utilizing excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to coach and mentor team members.

  • Utilizes complete independence in problem solving and decision making.

  • Completion of Funding-Boarding certification program (future).
