Summary of Position

The Technical Pharma/Biotech Account Specialist will be responsible for prospecting new leads and managing a portfolio of clients within pharma and biotech channels for the Fulgent Business Development team. The Account Specialist will represent Fulgent in the pharma/biotech domain and will provide technical expertise to prospective clients regarding molecular diagnostic precision medicine services. The ideal candidate will possess strong client-facing hunting and technical communication skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and be capable of significant levels of multitasking.

Key Job Elements




  • Handle a high volume of inbound/outbound calls and emails to introduce products/services and identify sales prospects.
  • Educate prospective clients on our customizable multi-omics, pathology, oncology, spatial transcriptomics, liquid biopsy, single cell sequencing, proteomics, and pathology services.
  • Stay informed about product and service offerings, features, benefits, and updates.
  • Follow up on leads and respond to inquiries with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Research and qualify leads to ensure they align with the target customer profile.
  • Record relevant customer information, interactions, and sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Work with the BD team to achieve sales targets by effectively closing deals and upselling products/services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitors' products/services.
  • Utilize market insights to refine sales strategies and approaches.
  • Monitor and track sales performance regularly, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets.


Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in business development, inside sales, and account management for molecular diagnostic services.
  • Strong hunting and prospecting skills with the ability to generate qualified leads and build healthy client relationships and pipelines within pharma and biotech channels.
  • Customer-centric approach focused on understanding and addressing client needs and ensuring consistently positive customer experiences.
  • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion tactics required for closing deals and meeting/exceeding targets.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, self-confident, and competitive, with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent time management skills with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel as required for networking, conferences, and sales/business development meetings.
  • Computer and technology proficiency: Microsoft Office, Chrome, Outlook, CRM
