Responsibilities
Work closely with functional areas to understand business flow and key drivers and drives the analysis and visualization of key metrics
- Identify and research, through Profit & Loss review, monthly and quarterly variances to budget, forecast, and last year proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and accuracy
- Provides financial/Key Performance Index reporting, analytics and performance insights on operations
- Provide analytical support in the development of forecast and targets for operations
- Create monthly, quarterly and annual plans and forecasts
- Regularly reviews financial operating results and plans with respective business segment, identifying key trends, variances, and areas of improved performance
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve reporting process
- Supports the preparation of materials for Management, Executive and Board of Director Presentations
- Supports the business month end performance evaluation process
- Build key actions for operational leaders to execute based on the data trends and opportunities
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Certification
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience working for a large auditing firm preferred
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- Essbase and Oracle experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks) preferred
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings preferred
