Position Summary |
The Program Coordinator at Rock Eagle 4-H Center is responsible for the coordination of the 4-H Environmental Education program at the 4-H Center. These responsibilities include the hiring, training and supervision of staff, developing curriculum and teaching resources, maintenance of teaching facilities and promotion and coordination of the daily activities of the 4-H Environmental Education program. This individual works under direct supervision of the Center Director to ensure that over 15,000 participants in Environmental Education at Rock Eagle have a positive learning experience during their visit to the 4-H Center. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Extensive knowledge of Educational and Biological Sciences. Supervise and evaluate a staff of 5 Full-time employees up to 20 seasonal part-time employees. Effective in written and oral communications.
Willing to work frequent nights and weekends. Have the ability to develop web based, printed and other media presentations in order to promote the 4-H Environmental Education program. |
Physical Demands |
Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Walk 3 to 5 miles a day in carrying out their duties and often times during the rain. Work frequent nights and weekends in carrying out their supervision responsibilities in the 4-H Environmental Education Program. Driving. |

Responsible for the maintenance of laboratories and teaching resources at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, including the two Woodruff Aquatic Buildings, the Wildlife Ecology building, the Museum of Natural History, and the Scott History Site all of which have live animals and exhibits. Coordination of the High Ropes training program and coordinating the maintenance of those facilities at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. |

Develops promotional materials such as brochures, videos and web based promotional materials in order to maintain and increase student enrollment in the 4-H Environmental Education program.
