Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators, study coordinators, and research teams to develop budgets that include all costs applicable to the specific study
- Build templates for clinical trials budgets working in conjunction with practice, third party vendors, and industry contracts
- Manage revenue for open trials and ensure prompt payment and credit to appropriate accounts
- Identify, recommend, and implement policies and improvement to processes
- Work within a multidisciplinary team including the Research Manager, Study Team and members of the accounting and finance team
- Build and maintain effective business partnerships
- Audit accounts periodically and works with practice staff to ensure correct billing and provide coverage review
- Track and monitor receivables related to all clinical studies (various network studies and independent studies) conducted at the practice, review expenditures and receipts at study close-out, verify appropriate reimbursement per clinical study research agreements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain logs and spreadsheets tracking trial data and program financial data
- Follow up on outstanding invoices monthly; coordinate and issue research account related check requests, as needed; assist in the establishment and closing of clinical study research accounts
- Work collaboratively with finance, billing, administrative and program staff at practice to refine billing, tracking, and collection systems to prepare financial reports for program and finance staff
- Train program staff regarding financial aspects of program
- Reconcile study charges to ensure billing compliance
- Assist Research Manager to prepare contracts documents and negotiate contract with pharmaceutical companies
- Ensure that the research finance department is in compliance with state and federal financial guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all information

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, Science, or related field.
- Three years of medical business office experience or clinical research finance preferred. Oncology and chemotherapy experience would be favorable. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel) required.
