The Observability team at Snowflake is in charge of building an extensible, self-service Observability platform that reliably collects and serves telemetry data such as metrics, logs, traces to both Snowflake customers and internal Snowflake teams. When developing these solutions, we think about the problem end-to-end: how do we collect data from different stacks across Snowflake reliably, how do we store it efficiently, how do we present this information to the user, what actions do we take on the insights from the data?

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead our Observability teams at Snowflake, driving the vision, architecture, and approach for our Observability platform. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on shaping the future of AI Data Cloud.

AS AN SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:
  • Lead and manage a team of managers and engineers responsible for delivering Observability capabilities across Snowflake's products.

  • Define and execute the technical strategy for Observability, ensuring alignment with Snowflake's overall vision and goals.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the Observability team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, customer satisfaction, and industry impact through exceptional software delivery.

OUR IDEAL MANAGER WILL HAVE:
  • 15+ years of industry experience in designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.

  • 5+ years of experience managing managers and leading technical teams.

  • Strong background in coding and problem-solving, with the ability to provide technical guidance and oversight.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with internal customers, engineers, non-technical team members, and executives.

  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.

  • Strong problem solving skills and background in coding

  • BS / MS in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $243,000 - $379,500.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
