Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute is searching for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

We are seeking creative and upbeat Research Assistant that will follow research plans in order to collect, record and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records.

Responsibilities:

  • Compose research papers, progress reports, and documentation (10%).

  • Develop a full stack IoT framework for connected robotic devices (30%).

  • Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.

  • May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.

  • Perform related technical support for the engineering team in the Biorobotics lab (10%).

  • Perform research and development on various robotics projects in the Biorobotics Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. Design, develop and testing of mechatronics and embedded system hardware and software for robotic medical and industrial application (50%).

  • Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.

  • Performs library research and field explorations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School or GED

  • 0-1 Data Entry Experience

  • 0-1 Data Collection and Analysis Experience

  • 0-1 Record Management Experience

  • 0-1 Research Experience

Training:

  • OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training
