Engine Dyno Test Technician

What are the Duties?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support development, durability and performance testing in an engine dynamometer facility.
• Collect, review and validate data for accuracy and completeness and certify per established requirements and industry standards.
• Interface with Product Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Supervisors on updates/new test procedures, equipment and methods.
• Verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and test systems.
• Install engines on dynamometer, hook up instrumentation, diagnose / troubleshoot problems, conduct tests, change engine parts if necessary, and remove engine and instrumentation.
• Basic computer skills and good verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Detail oriented, properly fill out and complete test documents following testing process.
• Safely operate electric pallet jack; Forklift operation as needed with training.

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to read and write reports
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Experience in engines/powertrain dynamometer testing or other similar testing techniques preferred.
• Diesel mechanic background and certifications a plus.
• Operate air/battery impact tools: use of general mechanics tools.
• Operate overhead hoist and cranes.
