The Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (Tufts CSDD) is an independent, academic research center at Tufts University that provides data-driven analysis to improve the efficiency, quality, and economics of pharmaceutical R&D. Founded in 1976, Tufts CSDD is internationally recognized for its studies on drug development time, cost, and success rates. The Center conducts independent research, offers professional education programs, and publishes widely to inform industry and policy decision-making.
What You'll Do
The Communications Coordinator supports the planning, development, and implementation of marketing strategies, communications materials, and digital outreach efforts for the department, school, or division. This role provides advanced-level support in promoting effective communications across the department, school or division. S/he assists in drafting, proofreading, and designing print and digital content, managing social media platforms, and supporting event promotions. S/he assists in the design and layout of publications and coordinates publicity materials, advertising, and public relations for events. In addition, s/he assists in creating, monitoring, and updating the website, drafts social media posts, and monitors activity and triages or refers media inquiries to the appropriate party. The Communications Coordinator assists with budgets, special projects, and provides general administrative support as necessary. Essential Functions:
- Proofreads, edits, and may draft communications materials, including emails, newsletters, reports, and promotional content
- Assists in the design and layout of publications, marketing collateral, and event materials
- Prepares and edits newsletters, gathers and researches information for reports, and other literature
- Coordinates publicity materials, advertising, and public relations efforts for programs and events
- Assists in creating, monitoring, and updating the website
- Updates and maintains website content and coordinates with teams to ensure messaging is current and accurate
- Assists in the implementation of strategic marketing and digital campaigns; supports lead generation activities
- Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to support initiatives such as SEO, Google Ads, and outreach
- Provides event coordination and outreach support for webinars, trainings, and public events
- Drafts and schedules social media posts; monitors, tracks, and reports on engagement and activity
- Triages or refers media inquiries to the appropriate party
- Maintains communications databases, digital archives, and inventory of materials in Box Drive and Q-Drive
- Assists with budgets, provides logistical support for committees and special projects, and provides general administrative support as necessary

What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
2-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or related fields. - Proficiency in drafting, proofreading, and editing communications materials.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), and social media platforms.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a higher education or professional services marketing environment.
- Experience in the health-care or pharmaceutical field
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, basic SEO, and CRM or marketing automation tools.
Pay Range
Minimum $26.70, Midpoint $31.80, Maximum $36.80
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
